My Story

My name is Allison J. Cohen. I am a licensed occupational therapist in the state of New Jersey. I am also a Certified Hand Therapist by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission. With a passion for improving the lives of individuals through occupational therapy, I have cultivated a career focused on providing high-quality care with a special emphasis on hand therapy. I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my practice, having dedicated years to refining my skills and staying abreast of the latest advancements in the field.

I earned my degree in Occupational Therapy from New York University and have continually pursued advanced training and certifications to enhance my ability to deliver comprehensive care. As an occupational therapist, it has been my job over the past 11 years to help my clients recover from injury in order to perform their activities of daily living.  I believe in a patient-centered approach, where collaboration and communication are key. As a clinician, my goal is to empower individuals to regain independence and maximize their functional abilities.

Beyond my clinical practice, I am actively involved in educational initiatives. My passion for communicating valuable information to fellow practitioners, students, and the broader community can be seen in the articles I've written and lectures I've given. My aim is to use this site to continue my effort to promote recovery from injury and foster wellness.

When not focused on my career, I am the busy mom of three active little kids. In our free time, my husband and I also run a custom sock business as a hobby, but more on that later!
